Pray for Our Student Ministry - Pastor Ed

There is much debate in Christian  circles when it comes to Children and Youth ministries. There are some that say that there should be no age segregation in church and that all things should be done as a family. Others separate their students in everything and they are not part of the larger body of the church at all. Some even see the role of the children’s/ youth minister as at best unbiblical, at worst ungodly. Obviously, I believe in children’s and youth ministry. On the other hand, many of these ministries are in some aspects flawed. So why do we  do these ministries? Do they have a  purpose?

We, at Boyd Avenue, see the need for and value children’s and youth ministry.   It is for this reason that we are seeking to fill a youth minister and a director of children’s ministry positions. God has placed many students in our church. Some of them come from amazing   Christian families with wonderful, Godly parents. Others come from families with little to no church background and have parents who never come with them. It is our responsibility to best minister to those whom God has entrusted us with.

For the month of March, let me challenge each of you to pray for our children. We do have a calendar that has a suggested prayer need for each day of the month. Use this as needed. Pray as God leads you. Pray as we seek to fill these positions. Pray that God may show you your role in these ministries. Pray for our children.
